The last chair of the day was at RICD. That's me with Shimi on the right, another mechanic and in front, a perennial helper and Christian who used to be a colonel in the Thai army. Right after I returned from the home visits I immediately went to help put side skirts on this wheelchair. It was for a Christian woman with no legs. She drove in on her motorcycle with her old 6 year old worn out wheelchair inthe side car. She is a street merchant and and as the last patient of the day, we all went out to send her off with her new wheelchair in the side car. She had the biggest grin on her face. Ah, what joy and wonder at how some can just transcend their disablities.
