It is nearly 11:00 pm here. No pictures again today. I took some but today was sort of a low key sightseeing day. I have taken a few walks along the Nile and into the surrounding neighborhood. Interesting to look at the architecture, traffic, and people. Fun too!
We are still awaiting the release of the wheelchairs. It's like a Frank Piretti novel. But the Coptics here are powerfully inspiring and loving and hard working people who well know their Father....that mountains can be moved by Him. There is a great need and want for what we have to offer to the wonderful people of Egypt. Please add your prayers toward the release of the wheelchairs and our outreach.
Tomorrow we will be visiting a disabilities organization to see/minister/teach/walk with disabled people of all ages, Muslim, Coptic and other Christians. It's about 2 hours away.
Short but sweet. Love to all.
In Christ,
Craig

Hi Craig,
ReplyDeleteWe all got an email from Annie today. So I thought I would stop by the blog & say "hello"! I'm sorry to hear that everything is not going as expected, but maybe that it's part of God's greater plan. We make plans & God laughs. Although I'm sure that it's frustrating, I'm sure that He is using all of you in the way that He believes is best.
In the meantime, I hope that you are having a great adventure & gathering stories to share with us when you get home.
I mentioned your trip to one of my clients today. He is a spinal cord injury patient & uses a wheelchair. He said that we truly take the simple things like wheelchairs & other mobility devices for granted in this country. Many others around the world are not so fortunate & miss out on so many opportunities as a result. We are really blessed.
Although your trip might not be going as planned, I'm sure that God is at work & He will use you & the group in a special way. Even small gestures of kindness matter. If you only do something small for one person there, it still matters in God's eyes. All you can do is show patience & kindness. We know you're so good at that!
Pastor Nate said something in one of his sermons a number of weeks ago that has stuck with me: "God doesn't need your good works, but your neighbor does". You're just helping our "neighbors" in Egypt right now!
We love you & we are praying for you & the team!
Love,
Emily
Graiger,
ReplyDeleteHere I am in Michigan, and I just got an update from Annie.
The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. My thought is that great pharaohs once sailed up and down that Nile River you are getting the chance to see. They are gone and the river keeps flowing. Don't we also say all men are like grass, but the Word of the Lord endures forever. We pray that your purposes for being there are not thwarted by some bureaucratic or political snag, but in the much larger scheme of things all will turn out as God intends. May He give you safety and success. Will talk when you get back. Dave
Craig,
ReplyDeleteRyan and I are praying for you, Annie, your group in Egypt and the release of the wheelchairs. I've also been praying about what I should write to you. I'm not sure if this will help, but I want to encourage you to pray and ask God to reveal His purpose for your trip. If you ask God to reveal His purpose to your heart in every moment, maybe it will turn out that He has set work before you that is completely different from the work you had planned. People everywhere need the kind of compassion that God has abundantly placed in your heart. I'm wondering whom God has sent you there to bless.
love and prayers, Tristin
